In connection with the SME-D Executive Committee meeting on August 22, members will have the opportunity to meet Thomas Engevall, Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). Thomas will then provide information about FMV's new organization and talk about XL – External deliveries. Several of SME-D's member companies were present when Colonel Mats Klintäng, the Armed Forces, spoke about the development of total defense, where both the Armed Forces and MSB collaborate. We also heard about the role of the business community in total defense. The seminar was very interesting and was followed by a discussion on the topic at hand. The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on May 25, 2018 and replaces the Personal Data Act. The regulation tightens the way personal data may be processed. The seminars, which are held every year, are a continuation of the Defence Companies Days and are organised by SME-D together with SOFF, FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces, and were held at Teknikföretagen in Stockholm.
