Well-attended VU meeting!
The members raised the problem of long waiting times for security clearance of consultants and Lars Puss acted immediately by asking a question to the Minister of Defense, read more here. Good engagement at the VU meeting
It was a well-attended meeting where many of SME-D's members came and networked. Commander-in-Chief, Micael Bydén, gave a presentation on the future of the Swedish Armed Forces and the role of companies. The members had time to discuss and ask questions at the end of the presentation. The evening ended with mingling and networking.
Seminar on Nordic defense cooperation
Nordefco was founded in 2009 with the aim of improving the countries' defense capabilities and promoting a more efficient use of resources. The background to the increasing Nordic cooperation in Nordefco is the changing security situation. ÖB says that we are strong and well equipped. A new training course for 30 cyber soldiers will be started. The defense ministers of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark agree that we should cooperate more!

Thomas Engevall, FMV meets SME-D members August 22, 2018
In connection with the SME-D Executive Committee meeting on August 22, members will have the opportunity to meet Thomas Engevall, Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). Thomas will then provide information about FMV's new organization and talk about XL – External deliveries. Colonel Mats Klintäng visited SME-D on May 25
Several of SME-D's member companies were present when Colonel Mats Klintäng, the Armed Forces, spoke about the development of total defense, where both the Armed Forces and MSB collaborate. We also heard about the role of the business community in total defense. The seminar was very interesting and was followed by a discussion on the topic at hand.
