New vice-chairman of SME-D

After 1.5 years on the board, Andreas Nilsson, Business Development Manager at Knowit Defence Technology AB, now takes over the role of Vice Chairman of SME-D. He succeeds Anette Östelius who will now focus on other tasks on the SME-D board.

Andreas has previously been responsible for collaboration with the Swedish National Defense University, FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces within the board work. With his experience, he looks forward to acting as a sounding board and, together with chairman Jaime, continuing to develop the association and secure SME-D's position within defense issues.

”"My vision for SME-D is to strengthen the association's role as a natural partner for authorities and the government, to meet the expectations of its members and to work towards the growth of the association by attracting more members. I also look forward to driving solutions for the challenges that SMEs face in the defense sector."”

Former vice-chairwoman, Anette Östelius, will continue to be an important part of the board. Her focus in the role has been to have a close dialogue with the chairwoman and act as support both in the daily work, and in more unexpected situations that may arise. As a board member going forward, she will continue her work with representation and ambassadorial roles.

”"My focus will continue to be on contributing to the delivery of the activities the association does, the data that is developed and the representations that are needed, for example in the form of ambassadorial roles or interest groups. There are always tasks in a non-profit board to tackle, so it's mostly about "stepping back a little in the ranks but continuing to work actively forward"”
