The Swedish trade association for civil security, SACS, and the trade association for small and medium-sized enterprises in the defense sector, Sme-d, have agreed on increased collaboration with a declaration of intent. By finding synergies to work on and offering members the opportunity to participate in each other's activities, the hope is to both broaden the organizations and strengthen the industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe civilian and military sectors are getting closer together and both parts are dependent on each other. Therefore, it is important to create strong collaboration between companies that supply to the military market and companies with a focus on societal security,\u201d says Richard Kindroth, Chairman of SACS.<\/p>\n
\u2013 One part of this is to create increased cooperation between our organizations with the aim of strengthening Swedish defense and security capabilities. We are now forming a forum for knowledge exchange, business opportunities, collaborations and new solutions that benefit both companies and Sweden's security. It is possible that in the future we will also collaborate further on common issues, says Jaime Rico, chairman of Sme-d.<\/p>\n
The organizations together have approximately 40 member companies operating in the defense sector and public safety. Both organizations each have their own independent office at the Swedish Association of Technology Companies' Industry Groups.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the collaboration is to strengthen Swedish robustness by creating a strong business community with clear tasks within total defense.<\/p>\n
The Swedish Association of Civil Security (SACS) is the trade association for companies active in civil security. The aim is to safeguard the interests of member companies in order to improve business relations between the public sector and Swedish business in civil security. The organization was founded in 2006.<\/p>\n About Sme-d<\/strong><\/p>\n Sme-d is a non-profit association whose purpose is to safeguard the interests of Sweden's independent small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with specialist skills, operating largely within the Swedish total defense.
